Session 3, VP1

After saying their goodbyes to Bjorg, the party continued forward through the Varfjell Fields towards Ohmslo. On their way, they ran into a strange sight: a talking Blissey that their Pokedexes couldn't scan. Upon approaching it, they were surprised to realize that it was in fact a Pokemon collector in disguise, attempting to sneak up on wild Pokemon. 

The young man introduced himself as Takav Baras, and after introducing the party to his Pokemon, Sir Webbington the Joltik, he invited the party back to his ranch for breakfast. Along the way, he explained that he was very focused on catching Pokemon, and didn't like to battle as much as he did simply catching and collecting them. His current collection was described as "about three-four hundred, give or take a few hundred". 

After eating breakfast at his ranch home, Takav showed them his large ranch, fenced in with a meager 1-foot high barrier. (The Pokemon are free to come and go as they wish.) He also showed the party his barn, where he kept his supply of Pokemon disguises, as well as his catching supplies. The party members mentioned they were heading onwards to Ohmslo, and were low on supplies. 

Takav offered that if the party stayed the night, and assisted him with farm chores the next day, he could gift them some supplies for their journey. The party readily agreed. After lending him their assistance, Takav gave them each several Potions and Pokeballs, as well as his contact number. Before leaving, Gunnar asked if he could leave some of his Pokemon to enjoy their spare time at the ranch, which Takav agreed to. 

After saying their goodbyes, the players resumed their travel along Angeyja's Sands. They shortly came upon an odd sight: a massive-sized sand castle, large enough to fit several people inside, which Naivara determined was made by Pokemon. While investigating the outside, Bergie spotted a group of Pokemon behind the sand castle: a small cluster of Sandygasts and a Cremaunt, led by a Palossand. 

The smaller Pokemon were circling around the Palossand in an odd sort of dance. Upon noticing the party, the Pokemon immediately attacked, leading to the group's most intense fight so far, and the time one of their Pokemon was KOed. With their combined forces, they managed to wear down and overcome the swarm of Pokemon, revealing that the Palossand had been guarding a misplaced metal lunchbox left on the beach. 

Inside, the party found $1000 each, and 1 Great Ball a piece. Recovering from the harsh battle, they decided to camp the night inside the massive sand castle, and resume their journey to Ohmslo in the morning. The weather has been slowly getting cloudier, and promises of rain are on the horizon.

It's dark but we keep moving until we get far enough away that the runes stop hurting him.    It’s about dawn when the Pokemon stops ahead, exhausted. I’ve been trying to heal Lauren’s hand for the last few minutes but he tells me to take care of Hestr first. I thank the Earl, he was always my getaway plan if things got bad. Session 48, VP1

Another Gym Rune had been added to the trainers’ growing legend. At dinner that evening, several townsfolk begrudgingly complimented Takeru on his newly-displayed battle skills.    Gunnar spoke with Morphada about Ingeborg; some of the citizens had been convinced to reconsider the term of exile. Takeru had also suggested the possibility of bringing Ingeborg along with the group, though Bergie seemed very hesitant to do so. Morphada was grateful for our heroes’ consideration, & said they could discuss it further come morning.   Breakfast the next day was full of one of Morphada’s typical honey-glazed delicacies- only, this time, everyone present was thoroughly enjoying them. Rather than drowning something in honey, she had instead lightly-glazed bacon strips. Arc 4, Session 20, L5R

Private Records of [ILLEGIBLE], April 4 th , 1119 In the weeks I have been stationed here in Yama no Kuyami to supervise Orakamono no rōgoku, there has been mercifully little to report. The work is tedious, but must be done to ensure the realm’s safety. As samurai, I live to serve. The remote scrying scrolls have been useful, but must be used sparingly. A few coins to various peasants & ronin have helped fill in the gaps.   Multiple clans have staked claims to mine for metal & gems: Badger, Centipede, Crane, Lion, & Mantis. None of them appear to have any knowledge of the prison’s true purpose. I am most confused at the presence of the Centipede, or lack thereof. It seems their group is only a single samurai with a few retainers- I have yet to see any evidence they are even mining. Strange, but hopefully benign.
